In 2000 Ivan created Hickmott Consulting, to fulfil an ambition to develop his own practice and establish partnerships with niche consultancies with a focus on the people-aspects of change management, organisational improvement, team development, and enabling strategies for HR leaders.
Hickmott Consulting consults, facilitates and teaches leaders at all levels in organisations in the people aspects of change, to shape and implement strategies with an emphasis on high employee involvement and cohesive, energised teams.
Ivan`s own practice also features change consulting on individual projects, design / facilitation of workshops on any topic for 10-100 participants and teaching consulting skills.

Ivan has consulted across Europe, China, Middle East, North America for a variety of large and small clients in very different sectors.

HR Director or Director of Organisational Effectiveness and Change at Unisys April 1989 – July 2000

Joined Unisys Corporation, a global computer manufacturer & IT services organization in a generalist role, supporting Sales Divisions and the Professional Services organisation. In 1993 he took up the position of Director of Human Resources for the Unisys UK subsidiary and subsequently for the Information Services business across Europe. From 1996-2000 Ivan was Head of Organisational Development / Business Effectiveness - Unisys Europe, acting as an internal consultant for both global initiatives and business unit specific engagements in multiple countries.

HR Generalist / HR Manager at GEC Marconi
January 1979 – March 1989

Various HR generalist positions in GEC Computers, Marconi Avionics and GEC Traffic Automation. Supporting manufacturing, R&D, sales divisions at multiple sites in northern home counties. Covered full spectrum of HR operations as part of various management teams.
