Empowering Learning
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for all school staff

CPD Out-of-the-box

  • Would you like all the staff in your school to understand the value of mental imagery to learning?
  • Are you in a Primary School with limited CPD funding?
  • Have your staff not got time nor cover to go on training?

The Empowering Learning CPD Programme for schools:

Experience has taught us at Empowering Learning™ that the most effective way for students to develop their vital skills of mental imagery is for all teachers in the school to understand the necessity and application. This is especially true in primary school, where Teachers, Learning Assistants and SENCOs alike can easily integrate these skills into their normal day.

Empowering Learning™ offers gifted and struggling individuals a completely new perspective on their current experience of learning difficulties, empowering them to achieve what they thought was impossible.

The Empowering Learning™ CPD Programme for Schools gives every member of staff the opportunity to learn new skills at their own pace, revision opportunities and most importantly continuity of training as staff change.

Staff will learn:
The role of mental imagery in every aspect of learning
The use of mental imagery to accelerate phonics and improve literacy
The essential role of mental imagery for maths
The application of mental imagery for comprehension, sequencing, summarising, concentration, improving short and long term memory ......and so much more.

The Empowering Learning CPD Programme for Schools, gives access to the Empowering Learning Foundation Course consisting of on-line byte sized videos plus a box of resources. This offers staff the opportunity to practice the skills they are learning and go away with the confidence to teach others how to overcome the debilitating effects they are experiencing and become symptom free.

The training is ideal for:

  • Educational professionals such as teachers, principles, head teachers, learning support, special needs experts and those training in the education profession
  • Especially those with little time to be out of the classroom
  • Those who want to learn new skills and a new perspective on challenging students.

What makes Empowering Learning so successful in helping people who struggle to learn?

Empowering Learning™ focuses on what people can do, their exceptional skills, rather than deficits, using a coaching approach to transform their confusion into successes.

Empowering Learning™ , with the skills published in Bridges to Success, offers remarkably quick ways to improve many learning difficulties, including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dygraphia, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Asperger’s, Tourette’s and Autism.

  • The skills of successful learning are taught as a series of easy, simple, logical steps which build on each other to enable success.
  • Struggling learners discover talents they didn’t know they had and use them for spelling, reading, maths, concentration, etc
  • You will learn how to guide students who are discouraged, frustrated and angry into positive mental and emotional states, that make it easy to learn.
  • Young children will learn naturally using their expert mental images and keeping their exceptional visual skills under control.
  • The same processes improve short term memory, concentration and are invaluable for multi-lingual teaching environments.
  • Struggling learners always have untapped, unrecognised or uncontrolled gifts to bring to the world.

........Additional services from one of our trained practitioners

We have trained Practitioners across the world, who will be delighted to assist you with any aspect of this training, for example:

Challenging pupils - who are often really convinced that they can never improve

Parents meetings - engaging parents in these new skills is invaluable.

Classroom coaching and mentoring - support for the initial lessons, until the skills are embedded in standard classroom practice.

Accelerating catchup programmes for Pupil Premium and Year 7 students

Weekend and holiday events - trained Practitioners can always offer schools additional resources to accelerate the progress of those who have fallen behind and can work with whole families, in Breakthrough Workshops

Coaching a group of teachers who are developing strategies to work with their particular community of students, in whole class teaching, small groups or with individuals.

Family coaching - to help individuals and families understand their own experience, and learn new skills.

Consider for a moment how, having these skills in school with access to extra support could improve results and enable all students to reach their potential.

Empowering Learning offers services from the Olive Hickmott, the co-founder of the work known as Seeing Spells Achieving, in association with those we have trained. This work has been further developed, now called Empowering Learning, simplified and extended for other learning difficulties such as ADD/ADHD, Dyspraxia, Tourettes, Dysgraphia, Aspergers and Autism and published in Bridges to Success - How to Transform Learning Difficulties. Empowering Learning is not a replacement for other educational practices and techniques it is complementary.
